Monarch exit devices and panic hardware have been circulating commercial businesses for the past 100 years. The exit devices Monarch makes can be used on single or double doors, depending on the device. Monarch exit device styles include rim, surface vertical rod, concealed vertical rod and mortise.
All Monarch exit devices are a Grade 1, which is the highest rank in the rating system. Note: We usually find 904H List Door Hardware on all of the Monarch Falcon Devices.

Most Monarch panic devices ship within 1 week of your placed order. Custom sizes of Monarch exit devices plus some finishes and some Monarch exit device parts are factory orders and may take up to 2 weeks.
Monarch Panic Devices Models
Monarch 17 Series – The 17 Series Monarch exit devices were made from the 1970’s until about 2006. These were their narrow stile devices, designed specifically for doors with narrow frames or where designers wanted a small footprint.
If you currently have 17 Series Monarch exit devices in disrepair, the replacement for these would be the Falcon 24 Series. The mounting holes will not line up, so you will need to start from scratch. Currently we have very few of the replacement parts for this device.
Monarch 18 Series – The 18 Series Monarch exit devices were also made from the 1970’s until 2006. These Monarch panic devices were one of their more popular devices and we still get many phone calls on them. These came in rim, surface vertical rod, concealed vertical rod, and mortise versions.
Most replacement parts for the Monarch 18 Series are no longer available, but some of the components are still used on the other current models, so we may be able to help. One of the most popular parts is the replacement springs for the lever trim handles. We still are able to get these for your 18 Series Monarch exit devices.
Monarch/Falcon 19 Series – The 19 Series Monarch exit devices have been made since the 1970’s with very little change. These are in the Monarch economy line and have a powder coat painted finish, whereas the rest of the Monarch panic devices line is plated finish. They offer rim and surface vertical rod versions of this device in powder coated aluminum or powder coated dark brown colors. These devices are ideal when you need heavy-duty inexpensive hardware.
Falcon 24 Series – The 24 Series Monarch exit devices are very similar to the 25 Series, but are specifically designed for narrow stile doors. These usually only require 3-1/2” stile widths. They are offered in rim, surface vertical rod and concealed vertical rod versions, with 10 different finish options. An added bonus is the availability of replacement parts for the Falcon 24 Series. Most devices at this price point have little or no parts available.
Falcon 25 Series – The 25 Series is now the workhorse for Falcon. With a lower price point and very heavy-duty construction, this is an ideal exit device. These come in rim, surface vertical rod, concealed vertical rod and mortise versions along with 10 different finish options. An added bonus is the availability of replacement parts. Most devices at this price point have little or no parts available.
Monarch/Falcon XX Series – The XX Series Monarch exit devices were introduced in the 1970’s and were discontinued in June of 2019. The XX Series is their crossbar style offering. These devices were available in rim, surface vertical rod, concealed vertical rod and mortise versions and 8 different finish options. Some parts for these particular Monarch exit devices are still available.

About The Monarch Exit Devices Brand
Monarch was founded in the 1920’s in Shepherdsville, Kentucky. Until the 1990’s, Monarch was a family-owned business. In the 1990’s, it was sold to Newman Tonks PLC, and in 1998 it was sold to Ingersoll-Rand.
In 2007, Ingersoll-Rand rebranded the Monarch name to Falcon along with Dor-o-matic. In 2012, they moved the Falcon/Monarch line, along with Ives, Von Duprin, LCN, Schlage, and Glynn Johnson to the Allegion product line.

Falcon 650389 17V-18V-19V-24V-25V-XXV Top Latch for non Fire Rated Doors. This latch has a long history, the old number is 588, and the new number is 650389. A non Fire Rated door is usually an exterior door, or a door that is not designed to contain the spread of fire.

Falcon 650375 F-19-V/F24-V/F25-V/FXX-V Fire Rated Top Latch
The Falcon/Monarch Fire Rated Top Latch is used on the F-19-V, F-24-V, F-25-V, F-18-V and F-XX-V Surface Vertical Rods. The new number from Falcon is 650375, the old Monarch Number was F588. This latch is used on the above devices that are Fire Rated, meaning you can not dog these device in the Unlock Position. If your device has the ability to be dogged open, then use the G588 Non Fire Rated Version

Falcon Mechanical Electric Latch (MEL) Retrofit Kit 47867200
New for 2024 the Falcon MEL 47867200 Mechanical Latch Retraction. Retrofits all 1690, 1790, 24 and 25 Series devices to Mechanical Latch Retraction. This new system uses the PS902 Power Supply. The benefits for the MEL Series over the Older EL series are lower power draw (1 amp verse 16 amp), and more flexible power supply location, longer wire runs and thinner guage wires.

Falcon 299 Strike
The Falcon 299 Strike is used on the 25-R and 24-R Devices. The 299 strike measures 1-1/4" wide by 2-7/8" high with a slotted hole spacing of 2-1/8". The roller projects out 13/16". This strike is the same as the Von Duprin 299 Strike.

Falcon / Monarch 712L Lever Trim
The Falcon 712L Lever Trim is used for the XX-C, 18-C, and all 24 Series Falcon Devices. The XX-C and 18-C are the obsolete concealed vertical rod Monarch Exit Devices. The Trim is non handed or field reversible. The Key locks or unlocks the Lever. The escutcheon measures 1-3/4" wide and 7-1/4" long.

The Monarch Falcon 25-V is designed for high-traffic applications were added strength and durability are required. The device includes all strikes and mounting screws required for installation. Available in 3' and 4' devices, the 3' device is for doors 30" to 36", the 4' device is for doors that are 37" up to 48" wide. Monarch 912L Panic Device Lever Trim
The Monarch / Falcon 912L Lever Trim is for use on the Monarch / Falcon 19 Series. The 912L measures 7-1/4" high by 1-3/4" wide and the mounting plate is 5/8" thick. We ship these with the Dane Lever, which projects out 2-7/8" in the Classroom function. On the Classroom function the key locks and unlocks the lever handle, the Key Cylinder is not included. We offer this Lever Trim in Painted Aluminum, Painted Dark Bronze, and Brushed Satin Nickel.

Monarch Dor-O-Matic Falcon 600339 NL Spring Package
The Monarch / Dor-O-Matic / Falcon 600339 NL Spring Package converts the 179L , 712L, 712K, 912l and 911K to an NL function. The NL function is one were the Lever Handle can not be unlocked and left in the unlocked position when the key is removed. Spring has a 5/8" diameter. See attached instructions.

This is the cover for the Monarch Falcon 19-R Rim Device. The cover measures 5-7/8" tall by 2-1/2" wide with a projection of 1-7/8". We sometimes find the number 6133 - 000 cast into the inside of the cover.

Monarch 19 Series Hex Dogging Kit
Falcon/Monarch 19 Series Hex Dogging Assembly and Cover have been changed. As of April 12, 2022 the kit now includes a new style dogging assembly also.
We know this kit will work on the 19/24/25 Series, and are not sure if it will work on the Monarch 17/18 Series Dogging Cover goes over the dogging mechanism on the hinge side of the exit device. Sometimes when the end cap goes missing, this cover plate also disappears.

This steel bracket holds the hinge side of the panic bar on the door. The end cap then fits over it for a finished look. Bracket measures 1-5/8" tall by 1-1/4" wide with a 15/16" projection. Sometimes shipped with a mounting barrel nuts and screw.

Falcon 650387 Bottom Bolt Guide Assembly
The Falcon Monarch Bottom Bolt Guide Assembly 650387 is used the 19-V, 24-V, 25-V and the XX-V Bottom Rod. The Guide Assembly measures 1-7/8" tall by 1" wide and projects 1-9/16" at the widest projection. The Bottom Bolt Guide is made of zinc plated steel.

Replacement Center Case for the Monarch-Falcon 24-R Narrow Stile Rim Device. This Center Case is for use on both the Fire Rated and Non Fire Rated devices. This was changed in the summer of 2018. The 650233 has been replaced by the 650234, which was the Fire Rated version part number.
