About Detex Exit Devices Manufacturer

Detex Corporation was founded in 1878 as a company that primarily sold watchclocks. It wasn’t until the 1900’s that the company established the name Detex Watchclock Corporation. For years, Detex only made and sold watchclocks. 

In the 1960’s, the manufacturer incorporated security Detex exit devices and Detex panic hardware products into the selection of items they offered. Detex exit devices can be used for security on door exits in commercial buildings. As a result, the company name was changed again to Detex Corporation. 

In 2011, Detex Corporation discontinued manufacturing the Watchclock. However, they have continued to make Detex exit devices. The company acknowledges that many of their current employees have been employed there for more than 30 years. These seasoned employees are part of what keeps their creative product design process flowing smoothly.

Battery Powered Detex Alarm Exit Devices

Part of what sets Detex Corporation apart from other panic hardware manufacturers is their unique battery powered alarm system Detex exit devices. With these devices, pressing the Detex alarm panic bar causes the system to be triggered. We have six different Detex emergency exit push bar alarms in our panic hardware section.

The Detex EAX-300W Weatherized Battery Powered Door Prop Alarm is one of the Detex exit devices that we distribute. A Detex emergency push bar alarm comes in either grey or black and should be used with a standard 9-volt battery. 

Detex weatherized exit devices are built to resist strong weather conditions and should be used on commercial doors that open to the outside of buildings. This product can be easy to install if you follow the set of instructions that is included on the product page.

The Detex EAX-500W Weatherized Battery Powered Door Exit Alarm is another Weatherized product that should be used on out swinging doors that may be exposed to severe outdoor weather conditions. Read its product description to see what features sets it apart from the EAX-300W. Follow the instructions on the product page so the device will be easy to install.

We also offer the Detex EAX-300 Battery Powered Door Prop Alarm and the Detex EAX-500 Battery Powered Door Exit Alarm. Both of these Detex exit devices require a standard 9 volt battery. Choose from black or grey designs.

The Detex ECL-230D Alarmed Panic Exit Device and the Detex ECL 230D-PH Alarmed Panic Device are battery operated, as well. These deadbolt Detex exit devices will sound a 100 decibel alarm. They also have the black or grey color options.

Detex Exit Devices Product List

The Detex rim exit device that we carry is called the Detex 10 Series Rim Exit Device, also known as Detex Advantex Panic Hardware.  These heavy-duty Detex panic devices are built for high traffic environments. Aluminum or stainless steel are the two material options.

Our Detex panic bar hardware supply includes two kinds of Detex end caps. The Detex EC1 Advantex End Cap 101642 comes in stainless steel or bronze. This panic hardware should be used on the Detex Advantex panic hardware. Its part number is EC1 or 101642.

In contrast, the Detex 101822 Value Series End Cap is constructed of black molded plastic. It is also known as Detex part number 101822.
