The 850 and 880 Series are similar in that their products are fixed spring closers, so the spring tension is not adjustable. Both series products have regulating valves for closing and latching speeds.

International Door Closer 850 Series
The 850 Series consists of five products: the 851 Closer, the International Door Closer 852, the International Door Closer 853, the International Door Closers 854 and the International Door Closer 855. These closers should be selected with door size in mind. Make sure you also know whether it will be used on an interior or exterior door.
We recommend using the items in the 850 Series as a replacement to an already existing closer. All items from the 850 Series will be shipped with the regular arm and the parallel arm bracket. Plus, pick the style you prefer, storefront bronze or aluminum.
International Door Closer 880 Series
The 880 Series items have the same features as those from the International Door Closers 850 Series, except the 880 Series products also have back check. Back check is a feature that will keep the door at a slow pace when opening if it happens to catch a gust of wind. In other words, it will keep the door from flying open too far.
The 880 Series consists of the International Door Closer 883, the International Door Closer 884 and the 885 Closer.
You can find 880 Series products on many aluminum framed storefront doors. All items from the 880 Series will also be shipped with the regular arm and the parallel arm bracket.

International Door Closer 8051-TP Series
The International Door Closer 8051-TP Series is an ideal replacement closer for just about any Store Front Door. We recommend this closer because it will fit any size door, and you can adjust the spring tension to make it easier for the elderly, smaller children and the handicapped. The 8051 will work in interior or exterior doors, and will meet ADA codes. This door closer will work on a Right or Left Hand Door, Push or Pull side or Top Jamb mounting, it ships with a parallel arm bracket, arm and mounting screws along with a full plastic cover. We ship the 8051-TP DU or 8051-TP AL depending on the color you choose. Length of Closer is 9-3/4”, Horizontal Mounting Holes 9-1/16”, Vertical Mounting Holes 3/4”, overall height is 4-21/32” with height of l1-21/32”, and projects 2-29/32” from the door face. The 4 adjustment valves are Closing and Latching Speed, Power and Back Check.

The International Door Closer 853P Series is a common closer we see on a lot of storefront aluminum framed doors. This is one of the last closers out there to still have sizing. By sizing I mean each door closer has a spring size of different tension so the closer is selected depending on door size and whether it is interior or exterior. These days we usually use this door closer as a replacement of existing doors. The closer features two adjustment valves for closing and latching speeds. The cylinder is constructed of precision cast aluminum. If you have an exterior door I would recommend the 880 Series, which is the same door closer, but has a back check valve. The back check valves will slow the door down if it is caught by a gust of wind. It ships with a regular arm and parallel arm bracket. This door closer is for use on doors up to 32” interior or 28” exterior doors.
Direct replacement for the older style Norton 1602 and 1603, and Yale 52 and 53, that had the 3/4" x 8-3/16" mounting holes
