The Adams Rite EL8800 Solenoid is the mechanism that retracts, or in this case turns the wheel to unlock the panic device. There are two versions one for 12 volt systems 31-0735-IP, and the 24 volt system 31-0736-IP.
The 12 Volt Solenoid is wrapped in red tape, the 24 volt is wrapped in white tape.
